The shape of play
The official 2025 product page describes opposing teams, one-word clues and a shared array of word cards. The person giving clues knows information teammates do not. That makes language familiarity and the ability to see the grid practical points to discuss before a session.
The plus sign matters
The publisher lists four to eight-plus players and fifteen minutes. We preserve the plus flag in the directory: player counts above eight can match the filter, but the label is not a guarantee that every large group arrangement will suit the rules or table. The finder accepts groups only up to twelve.
Editions are not interchangeable
This record is the 2025 team edition. Codenames Duet, Pictures and the mobile app are separate entries in the publisher’s catalogue. A two-player result should not be inferred from another product with a related name.
What remains untested
There is no hands-on review or claim that the word list suits every English-speaking group in India. Read the actual language edition and the complete clue rules. Published time is one game estimate, not a measure of explanation time or repeated rounds.
